Connecting to users through visual storytelling and empathy.
My name is Fran Heston, and I’m a multi-disciplinary designer based in Los Angeles, California. Before diving into the digital realm, I worked in architecture and interior design. I’ve always been passionate about exploring the connection between art, architecture, and design, constantly questioning why they resonate with us and how I can express that through my creativity.
After studying Architecture and Studio Art at Tulane University in the vibrant city of New Orleans, I started my design career as an interior designer. From early on, I’ve been captivated by both print and emerging technologies, fascinated by how users interact with design. I love the psychological aspect of visual storytelling and empathizing with users through thoughtful design.
I would save old stickers from drinks I liked or screenshot campaigns and apps that caught my eye. This passion led me to pursue UX/UI and digital design, and after balancing coursework with my full-time job, I transitioned into the field, starting as a freelance designer. I’m always looking to grow and find inspiration everywhere, and I’m excited to discover more as I continue my journey.
